This mele is the third in our hula kahiko foundation numbers, following Kawika and Lili‘u E. It adds additional and varied hula steps to the dancers accumulated knowledge. This dance is a must for the serious hula student. Our version of this widely known mele comes from the hula traditions shared with me during my training. Though the words may be familiar to those who have watched Lilo and Stitch the similarity ends there. The Disney version is pure Hollywood, while this is pure tradition.
