This video includes instruction and demonstration covering 3 basic steps in Tahitian Dancing. We start by showing how to tie the pareo Tahitian style. The three steps demonstrated are the Tamau (previously called the Otu‘i) or single bump), the Tu Tu or double bump (formerly called the Otu‘itu‘i) then the Fa‘arapu, or circle with the hips (formerly called the ‘Ohure), and then the figure eight, or Varu (formerly called the Ori Haere) Also show cased are the hand tassels called ‘i‘i.
